Painterly Portraits
A New Photography Venture

I haven’t shot a single thing since August, but that—at last—is going to change. I’m pretty damn excited to announce the beginning of a new project, which I’ve fondly dubbed Painterly Portraits. 

This series-to-be has be ruminating in my head for more than a year now, and over the past few weeks has come together completely in my mind. At some point I’ll explain all my thinking, but for now let me just say I’ve always liked the idea of the photographer making an image, rather than just capturing one.

I haven’t decided how many portraits will make up this collection, but the subjects will be people that I know and admire, and I will attempt to capture them expressively and beautifully.
